we say thanks

Every year we host a private dining evening to say thanks to our clients who refer their friends and family on to us. It's always a great evening of good food and company, and one we look forward to each year. Unfortunately this year, due to Covid 19, this could not go ahead.

So, as an alternative, we took the food to our clients to say thanks! Each client received a beautiful gift basket of Italian wine and goodies. The baskets were very gratefully received with a few saying: "Thanks Iain and Cara, a lovely surprise and they will be well enjoyed!" and "How nice to receive such a lovely gift! It all looks delicious! Thanks Iain and Cara."

We're top rated

We're delighted to announce that we have been awarded VouchedFor’s UK Top Rated Adviser, and will be included in their Top Rated guide featured in The Times newspaper this month.

Every year, The Times and VouchedFor create this guide with the aim of helping consumers, by showcasing advisers who consistently provide a high standard of service and who deliver positive outcomes to clients.

It's wonderful to be included in this list and rated as one of the country’s best financial advisers. We could not have done this without feedback from our valued clients and want to say a huge thank you and, as always, we are grateful for your continued support.

 The season of giving

It's December and Christmas is nearly upon us. It's a very special and magical time of year for children, Santa is nearly here! But for some parents it can be a very difficult time meaning some children may end up with nothing to open on Christmas day.

Now in it's 6th year, The Spirit of Christmas charity gives underprivileged children in Glasgow and the surrounding area, a reason to smile on Christmas morning by providing presents and treats that these children would not otherwise receive due to financial hardship or living in poverty.

The charity put out an appeal again this year for donations of Christmas gifts and we wanted to help. Now the eight gift bags full of presents for the children we donated will be under the tree in eight houses this coming Christmas morning.

Every single gift donated is placed directly into the hands of allocated and referred children who need them most and to make Christmas the special and magical day it should be for all children.

Here come the bagpipes!

Thanks to our central location we have been lucky to see many of the pipers visiting Glasgow to perform at the Piping Live festival.

In fact in one week we have been serenaded by the bagpipers twice, each time passing the office as they made their way to George Square for a performance.

PRIVATE DINING EVENING FOR CLIENTS

We want to say thank you to those of you who joined us at the Urban Brasserie in May and that those of you who couldn’t make it were missed! We had a great night, down to not only great food and drink but excellent company.

Everyone at the dinner has been invaluable to us as they are not just clients themselves but have also sent friends and colleagues in to us too.

We will no doubt always remain a business that grows mainly through client referrals, so we greatly appreciate every time we are referred on and it really motivates us to stay on top of our game!

Money and Young People

We sat in on a really interesting presentation by Iona Bain founder of The Young Money Blog. She creates excellent resources for young people to understand money so a great one to show the kids. Will help them in the long run when it comes to their own financial planning.

Key speaker @ Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE)

This month I was asked to speak at the annual Buildeng Scotland event held by CABE at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Retirement planning being my speciality, I gave the group a high level view of pensions and investments, took them through the different types of pensions they may have, including council pensions and private pensions and exactly how these work.

Cash flow plans were the next to be covered and really helped to hit home how useful it is to create these as they give a clear visual on how their money is working for them now, based on their existing financial assets, and what adjustments need to be made in order to achieve their future personal goals.
